Kokinisto - Greek Beef Stew

Kokinisto - Greek Beef Stew On YouTube.

You can only rush this if you cook in pressure cooker or set in slow cooker with timer. First, olive oil, chopped garlic and onions. If you have time chop yourself. If you do not have time or have not shopped use ready cut. For me it sometimes is the difference between not cooking at all. Whatever makes your life easier. Brown meat, salt, pepper, oregano and add wine. You can either cook meat in its' own juices or start sauce. I make this meat so..... soft, you can cut with wooden spoon. I cook the beef in its' juices. Add crushed tomatoes, full can of water, salt, pepper, oregano and sugar. Cook covered in medium heat for one hour and on low heat for two hours. Keep stirring occasionally and add more water if juice absorbed. I did not need to add water and I got a nice thick sauce I served over mashed potatoes. This can be served with French fries, rice and any pasta. If you have company, this can be prepared first and reheated when guests arrive. The longer you cook the meat, the more tender. In low, low heat or you burn it! Enjoy!
